Strand Celtic are very pleased to announce that we will be launching a Football for All Programme with the FAI and Sligo Sports Partnership in October.
This programme has as its central aim the delivery of football opportunities to people who may not ordinarily get a chance to play the ‘beautiful game’ and will focus initially on children with additional needs in our community.
It consists of hour long sessions that are designed to be a fun-filled work-out for the players. It will take place on the Strand Celtic Harmac Astro on a Saturday Evening or Sunday lunchtime kicking off in October.
As part of the launch, the FAI are providing a dedicated course on Awareness and Coaching in Disability Programme. There is no previous football experience required to attend, just a willingness to learn and commit to helping out on this very worthwhile initiative.
The training takes place in Strandhill on Saturday 30th September and course costs will be met by Strand Celtic. This is an FAI recognised course that can also be used as part of further coach qualifications but more importantly it will give anyone interested in Volunteering or Coaching for the Football for All a great introduction to the programme.
All those interested in volunteering should contact Shane Kelly on 086 836 6045.
