Congratulations to our latest winners in the Strandhill Community Park 50 / 50 draw for August and September which took place at the Strand Celtic committee meeting last week.

Proceeds from 50 / 50 draw are ring-fenced entirely for the development of the community park facilities. To date, the draw has paid over €28,000 in prizes whilst reducing debt by almost €30,000. 

This debt was key in delivering the floodlit community walkway and spectator facilities whilst we are committed to ongoing incremental improvements such as the recent addition of a new roundabout, outdoor gym equipment as well as repairs and upgrading of the children’s play area thanks to grants from Sligo Leader and the National Lottery.

The community park facilities are used by a broad range of groups including Strand Celtic (500+ members), active age groups, community games, after-school group, karate, etc and we are anxious to maximise its usage for all the community.

So if you have any ideas as to how we can improve the facilities or want to get involved with maintenance, grant applications or in any way you think might assist, then please get in touch through coaches or a committee member.

In order to provide more funds towards development, we are aiming to get to 200 members. We are edging closer to 150 draw members which will push the monthly prize fund up to €750, so please continue to like, share and comment on the draw on your social media accounts and help get all the community behind the park development.
