Our senior team manager James Hannigan has stepped down for the new season due to exploring coaching opportunities abroad. It has been a difficult period with COVID as James had galvanised the senior squad prior to lockdown and the squad was going very well in training and in the initial games. Unfortunately COVID intervened to interrupt progress.
James has been with the club playing in our U19 league title winning side, reserve side and senior side over the years. He has been working up the coaching ladder and is currently undertaking his UEFA coaching licence. He had previously coached Summerhill College Senior Team.
Chairperson Jorge Correia said "James made a great impact in a short time with the senior squad building a good squad and giving our young players a pathway through to the senior team. He showed great tactical awareness and enthusiasm for the job. We wish him well in his endeavours abroad. He will always be welcome here with the hoops."
Marc Ryan who was assistant manager will be staying with the senior team management.
A new senior team management team will be announced in the next few days. We face a short summer season and then a special year as we enter the clubs 50th anniversary for the 2021 - 2022 season.
